New In: The Quirky Stylista for Mr Price

Pic from: http://thequirkystylista.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-quirky-stylista-and-mr-price.html

Funeka of the Quirky Stylista blog , known for her amazing style has released a project range for Mr Price. Its about time too. This lady has won plenty of awards for her style - including Glamour's Women of the year Style Icon awards, as well as Marie Claire's Best Street Style award.

Can you say that you dress so well that you've won awards for it? No, sadly you can't. So let Funeka dress you instead. Get on down to Mr P and snap up a few of these pieces. Or you can avoid the queues and shop online like I did. If you haven't discovered the joy of www.mrp.co.za yet, now is the time. Clickety-click.

I look forward to seeing more blogger collaborations in future. Some of these girls have serious talent when it comes to styling and design and its something I am thrilled to support.

These are the two items I've ordered: The "Chic Happens" active top, and the "Stylista" slogan tee.
As ever, Mr P gives us style for less - I mean really, at R49,99 for the tee and R99,99 for the sweater, can you really afford to miss out?

The weekend in Instagram

This weekend I was a "Golf Tour widow" and had the whole weekend to hog the remote, eat everything in the house, and catch up with great friends and family and to do it solo. Sometimes its good for the soul to have the house to yourself, cook for one and to venture out alone.

Friday was spent with some of my favorite girls at Hudsons in Claremont. That place pumps on a Friday - I had no idea. It makes the other two branches look positively tame. It was great having a margarita or two, and a sneaky caramel vodka in between shoveling burgers and onion rings into our faces.
Before I went out however, I spent the late afternoon in my pj's and watched Steel Magnolias. NEVER EVER DO THIS LADIES! Honestly, no amount of make-up could hide the "ugly cry" face that I was rocking at dinner. What a moron.

Saturday was spent with my girl Hsuan, one of very few people I know who can spend like I do. We'd been planning a market trawl date for ages, and as luck would have it, the day we decided to go to the V&A Market together, they host an Accessories Fair! We got there early and snapped up all the good stuff before heading downstairs for bacon waffles and Bubble Tea.
I came home with a gorgeous selection of arm candy from Joya, Long Jean Silver and the sweetest bird earrings from Net 'n Kameel (weird name, but cute stuff)
I then raced through to the north to help my mom with some preparations for my dad's 60th and then spent the evening with friends for a curry evening. Good curry, great company and red wine. Absolute heaven. Then 'ol Wes whipped up these Kahlua Orea Dom Pedros and my life was made!
I stayed over at the folks and got to cuddle my fluffy monster ,Vida, all night. Bliss.

Sunday was my darling dad's horse-racing themed 60th birthday lunch. We had the Somerset Room booked at Kenilworth, the cake, the booze and decor was sorted - but Cape Town wasn't playing along and the races were cancelled as the track was soaked. So we got hold of the legends at Dales Black Angus (dad's favorite steakhouse) and they set up a gorgeous table in their function room for us. They really saved the day and their service was outstanding. It ended up being the perfect way to spend such a rainy day, with plenty of wine flowing, a big fat steak lunch, a giant horse-racing themed chocolate cake - and the most wonderful group of family and family friends. Happiness is....

The weekend in Instagram

As far as weekends go - this one was near perfect. It kicked off with a girly dinner at Simply Asia, which then ended with Wakaberry. What's not to love about a night of great company, thai food and the best frozen yogurt in town?
I also tried a slicked back hairstyle - hence the shameless selfie included in this weeks pics. I think it turned out okay.

Saturday was spent with the bestie on a marathon shopping spree. I am trying to be a grown-up and have made a list of "investment items" that should carry me through this winter in style and I am trying very hard to stick to the list and not impulse buy. I have to say, I did very well. I am evolving as a person. I didn't come home with the black stilettos I tweeted about, and instead bought, or rather, invested (I can see my husband rolling his eyes right now)  in a leather jacket, a parka and a denim shirt, plus a few sundries like pretty tights etc. Come now - those are all winter staples that should be hanging in every girls closet for this winter, and many winters to come. See, investment! Like the ultimate shopaholic Carrie Bradshaw once said, "I like my money where I can see it - hanging in my closet".
I also spotted a pair of black leather boots that I might need as well, and may just have to go back for. Its between those and the stilettos - which I really don't need, but they're really pretty!

Shopping was followed by some takeaway sushi from our new favorite sushi spot, Nuri Sushi Factory, and cuddling under a blanket on the couch watching movies - only getting up to take a walk to Woolies to get some marshmallows for our hot chocolate. It was the perfect weather for vegging out and digging into that 1kg of Nomu drinking chocolate I bought a while back.

Sunday was a busy morning of running a few errands, followed by a super fun date night at the Twelve Apostles for their 'Dinner and a Movie' special. I'll post a full review tomorrow, but I will say for now that it was fantastic! We had a great meal, followed with a milkshake, popcorn, a well stocked candy bar and a screening of My Best Friends Girl in a 15-seater cinema. It was supposed to be There's Something About Mary but the disc was missing or something. It really didn't bother us, as we preferred the substitute anyway.

Now I have to show you the stilettos and the boots. I just cant decide. I need your opinion!
Its winter, I should get the boots right? But look at those stilettos! I think I need to get a poll going in the comments section.
