New Year, New Office
My first project for 2016 is to tackle our very sad office situation at home. I will be based there a lot more this year and Dave does a fair amount of work at home as well, so we want to create a space that feels professional and inspired.
I am very into the trestle table thing at the moment - it is budget friendly, and easy to customise to fit two workspaces along a longer trestle. I've got my inspiration from good 'ol Pinterest and now I am ready to start shopping. I'll be doing all the wall art from Superbalist, but for the little details like storage boxes, pillows for the chairs and pretty little knick knacks, I've found everything I need at H&M. Their homeware section is one of my favourite sections in the new store - and here is a little shopping hack: there is never a queue up at that till so take your haul from the women's section below and go pay up there. You're welcome.
These are some of the items that will be making their way into the new Pretty Mint HQ...

Love Milo
I don't get around to many home decor posts on here and I really wish I did. There are so many amazing local designers I would love to tell you about. I spend so much time at our local markets, design expos and boutiques hunting for unique bits and bobs for our home.
I don't know when you last popped into Nap at the Cape Quarter, but that shop is packed to the rafters with amazing decor, kitchenware, jewellery, food and clothes. I could lose myself all day in there.
My favourite addition to their store has to be the ceramics form Love Milo. I am obsessed with how pretty each piece is. The dainty little branches are too sweet.
I know we're still in the throes of winter - but don't these have you dreaming of Spring?

Pretty Pretty Kitchen
I'm becoming quite house proud in my old ducky years. Never before have I been so obsessed with having pretty things in my kitchen. The kitchen was purely functional and I was quite happy buying the cheapest, simplest version of whatever cutlery, crockery or appliance I needed.
I don't know if it is some primal need to nest and what-not, but the winds have changed and I am now splurging on pretty things that make my kitchen look like something Martha Stewart would be quite chuffed to work out of.
My favorite people at Spree have made my life easier by now selling decor items online - including tons of gorgeous kitchenware. Here are my picks from their collections:

Christmas Inspiration

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love the time with family, the cheer in the air, swapping gifts and gorging on delicious, rich foods. I am beyond excited this year, so much so, that I have already got the tree up and have got cracking on the decor around our living room. Our walls are navy blue - so that pretty much eliminates too much of the red, green and gold traditional colours - and instead I am keeping everything in neutral white, grey and silver.
It is also my first time hosting Christmas lunch and I can't wait to serve up a feast, start traditions and have a full, messy home full of love and laughter.
Here are some images from my Pinterest board that have inspired some ideas of my own. I'll definitely do a post with any DIY projects and decor finds closer to Christmas. You can follow me on Pinterest HERE

Summer Styling for your home from Poetry
Poetry sent me a preview of their Spring/Summer collections, and as ever, that store brings us simplicity, style and dainty, beautiful everything! I'll get to the clothes and bags that I've fallen in love with soon enough, but today I need to show you some of my favorites from their new homeware collections.
These items make me want to string fairy lights and white chinese lanterns all over my balcony, whip up a fruity sangria and throw a little summer soiree.
Come on summer!
