Levis Eyewear

Aviators, wayfarers and colourful reflective lenses = must-have eyewear styles for Spring/Summer. The shapes are classic and the colourful lenses make them stand out. Even better, is that unlike so many designer eyewear brands, the Levi's range is affordable, without compromising on quality. I have two pairs and could quite happily splurge on a pair in each lens colour. I've become set in my ways and almost only ever wear aviators so this Summer I am going to give the wayfarers a spin.

You can snap these up just about anywhere, but to check for a stockist closest to you, hop on over to the Moscon Optics website and they'll have all the details you need.

Hair oil is the new black

Almost every discussion on haircare these days seems to turn to hair oils. Beauty experts and bloggers worldwide are singing its praises. We all know how well coconut and argan oil has done lately, and both of those really do work wonders.

So I was very happy to be invited to check out INOAR's new Extreme Premium Oil last week. We were told all about the new lightweight, non-greasy, silicone infused hair oil that promises to treat split ends, calm frizz and add shine - all while nourishing your dry, damaged locks.

After trying it out for a week, I can tell you this: It smells like heaven. The combination of the argan, macadamia and rose oils make for the most yummy scent. They've also added Myrrh which is the hiker. It is a great antioxidant and anti-parasitic which is wonderful to have in your artillery when your poor hair is subjected to all kinds of pollution, product and sweat all day.

At R545 it isn't your drugstore level product. It'll only be available at salons. I don't mind spending more on great hair products, with a solid ingredient list. They do the job, and they last for ages seeing as you only need the tiniest amount. You simply rub a little over dry hair on your split ends, or work through the ends of damp hair and style as normal.

Love Milo

I don't get around to many home decor posts on here and I really wish I did. There are so many amazing local designers I would love to tell you about. I spend so much time at our local markets, design expos and boutiques hunting for unique bits and bobs for our home.

I don't know when you last popped into Nap at the Cape Quarter, but that shop is packed to the rafters with amazing decor, kitchenware, jewellery, food and clothes. I could lose myself all day in there.
My favourite addition to their store has to be the ceramics form Love Milo. I am obsessed with how pretty each piece is. The dainty little branches are too sweet.
I know we're still in the throes of winter - but don't these have you dreaming of Spring?

Sun, sea and see you later

Image: Source
I'm off to Thailand today! By the time this post is live I'll be up in the air and on my way to a two-week break. I cannot wait for some much needed fun under the sun, exploring the islands, eating ridiculous amounts of Pad Thai and, of course, a spot of shopping. Okay, maybe a truckload of shopping. So many of you have sent me the most fantastic tips on what to see, but mostly on where to shop - you know me all too well!

Don't forget about Pretty Mint though. We'll have at least 3 posts a week, and when I can I'll share some pictures from our holiday. For daily updates on our shenanigans, follow me on Instagram.

Love you long time!

KLûK CGDT is coming to Spree

Fashion week is behind us, but the fabulous fashion discoveries continues, thanks to my friends at Spree, who've collaborated with two of South Africa's most talented and well loved designers.
Renowned for their couture gowns and bridal wear, designers Malcolm KLûK and Christiaan Gabriël du Toit’s expertise also extends to ready-to-wear apparel. These lines are enhanced by the designers’ expert understanding of the female form and careful consideration when it comes to fabric selection. Darling readers, meet OTHELIA by KLûK CGDT.

Spree will be the first to launch OTHELIA by KLûK CGDT, and will stock 8 pieces exclusively in its online store. Featuring the season’s key items from the pleated skirt to the drop shoulder top, the range re-interprets contemporary classics, such as the trench coat and the midi skirt. These creations instill a sense of everyday luxury into each day-to-night item. While the rich tapestry of print and pattern that runs throughout the range creates a unique feel, the silhouettes created ensure that every item can seamlessly slip into your wardrobe.
Spree’s launch of OTHELIA by KLûK CGDT is an exciting highlight in their on-going campaign to support and shine the spotlight on local designers by providing an innovative platform for them to retail online.  Says Spree’s Fashion Director Chris Viljoen: “KLûK CGDT and Vlisco is a unique design duo that brings together incredible design and unbelievable fabric both executed at the highest level of workmanship.”
I'll definitely be adding a few pieces to my wardrobe for Spring. I can't resist a designer collab!
